Giclée - A computerized reproduction technique in which the image and topography are generated from a digital file and printed by a special ink jet printer, using ink, acrylic or oil paints. Giclée printing offers one of the highest degree of accuracy and richness of color available in any reproduction techniques
Lithography - Printing technique using a planographic process in which prints are pulled on a special press from a flat stone or metal surface that has been chemically sensitized so that ink sticks only to the design areas and is repelled by the non-image areas. Lithography was invented in 1798 in Germany by Alois Senefelder.
Serigraphy (Silk-screen) - A printing technique that makes use of a squeegee to force ink directly onto a piece of paper or canvas through a stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or other fine fabric with an impermeable substance. Serigraphy differs from most other printing in that its color areas are paint films rather than printing ink stains.

Artist's Proof (AP) - Print intended for the artist's personal use. It is common practice to reserve approximately ten percent of an edition as artist's proofs, although this figure can be higher. The artist's proof is sometimes referred to by its French épreuve d'artist (abbreviation E.A.). Artist's proofs can be distinguished by the abbreviation AP or E.A., commonly on the lower left of the work.
“Gallery wrapped” is a way of finishing a canvas artwork so it’s ready to hang without needing an additional frame. The canvas is stretched tightly over thick wooden stretcher bars, and the edges of the canvas are wrapped around the sides and stapled on the back.
Stretched - When a canvas is described as stretched, it means the artwork has been pulled tightly over a wooden frame (called stretcher bars) and secured on the back. This process keeps the canvas flat and smooth, ready to hang on the wall or to be placed inside an outer frame.
Hand Embellished - When an artwork is hand embellished, the artist (or a skilled studio artisan) personally adds paint, texture, or other details by hand on top of the printed or finished piece. This gives each artwork unique highlights and depth, making no two pieces exactly alike — even within the same edition.

NOTES: "Music is a big part of my artistic process. Just like in the movies, it sets the tone and mood of the scene. The Girl by the Stream is one in a series of paintings that is inspired by the musical compositions that are a Hallmark of each Disney film. My goal with these paintings is to capture the entire essences of the musical scores that go alone with each scene. My hope is that you will hear the song in your mind as you enjoy the painting. The Jungle Book is full of such fun, playful, and dramatic music that the final scene can often be overlooked, yet is the perfect crescendo to such as suspenseful journey. I wanted to paint a single scene that captures the moment in its entirety. I spent the last month wondering around my studio singing this song. Do you remember it?" ~Stephen Fishwick.

Stephen Fishwick’s photo may not be found in Webster’s under the listing for “art,†but it should be, because no other artist combines the elements they describe – sound, color, movement – that affect the aesthetic sense the way he does. However, once his mother explained to him the perils of life as a starving artist, he simply declared, “Then I guess I’ll just be Spiderman.†After the likelihood of that reality settled in, Stephen returned his heart to art and took his first formal painting class at age ten. It was in high school that his art first earned him accolades. With the persistence of his high school art teacher, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburg. Less than a year later, he started working as a professional artist, drawing portraits, caricatures and illustrations. In 1996, Stephen began expanding his artistic education by studying traditional drawing and painting under Jeff Watts at the Watts Atelier of the Arts in Southern California. Influenced by a wide range of renowned painters, from Norman Rockwell to Salvador Dali, John Singer Sargent to J.C. Leyendecker, Stephen has created a style all his own. “Every day I fall in love with drawing the human face and form,†he says. “My sketchbooks are filled with drawings of life, from people to animals.†In a career that has spanned over two decades, Stephen has earned widespread acclaim, but two achievements make him most proud: First, his philanthropic endeavors that have raised over $1 million for different charities just since 2004.
