The Gallery's Perspective
You first notice the exuberant green—layers of deep forest and shimmering chartreuse that feel almost alive beneath the patterned discs. The composition reads like a playful, celestial garden: concentric circles, jewel-like centers and pinwheel forms hover against a mottled, spacey ground. Those glossy orbs and the small, faceted accents catch the light and give the work a tactile sparkle, while the repeated round motifs create a sense of orbiting motion without feeling chaotic. Color pops—cobalt blue, warm amber, and a rainbow petal cluster—provide bright punctuation that keeps the eye moving and lifts the overall warmth. There’s an inviting sense of discovery here; each circular detail feels handcrafted and slightly different, so the piece offers little surprises on closer look. It’s the kind of image that brings energy and curiosity into a room while still feeling rooted by its rich green atmosphere.
The Artwork
About Cosmic Energy Wall Art by Robert Swedroe
Image Notes When it comes to my collage art, I like to take a surreal approach. I don't believe in guiding the viewer on what they should see. Instead, I design my pieces to intrigue the viewer and allow them to discover something new each time they look at it. One of my favorite pieces, Cosmic Energy from 2010, is a study of rich dark greens and whimsical circular shapes that were inspired by the planets in our solar system. The jewel-embellished discs draw your eyes to different places each time you look, while pops of colors add depth to the deep-space greens, bringing this celestial artwork to life.
