Villa di Mare, 2001
$2,175.00
There’s a buoyant, sunlit cheer in this view of the Thames that feels as much about atmosphere as it does about place. Hallam layers soft, pastel skies and a lavender-tinged skyline behind a clear blue river, so the scene reads like a memory of a bright afternoon — warm light on stone bridges, playful reflections, and the steady procession of red buses crossing the spans. Up close, the dabs of color and brisk, confident marks give foliage and water a lively texture; the leafy greens at left push forward against gentler, cooler tones across the river, creating a pleasant sense of depth. Boats dot the water with casual motion, while the distant dome anchors the composition with a familiar, reassuring presence. It’s the sort of image that brings a relaxed, optimistic energy to a room — sunny, urbane, and quietly convivial.
