The Gallery's Perspective
There’s an immediate sense of summer light in this view of the Thames — warm, pale skies lift the city into soft air while the river reads as a cool, comforting band across the scene. Hallam balances familiar London landmarks with a painterly looseness: St. Paul’s dome rises in a softly modeled silhouette, bridges arc across the water, and tiny boats bob with quick, confident strokes. The palette of lemon, lavender and cobalt gives the skyline a slightly dreamlike glow, while the saturated greens of the tree-lined embankment and the flashes of red buses and cars add lively punctuation. "Thames at Waterloo" is an enhanced serigraph on canvas created by Kerry Hallam in 1997 for his 'London-Paris Suite'. From the deluxe edition of 75 on canvas, the edition also included 475 on white paper for a total edition size of 550. The artwork is signed 'Kerry Hallam' lower right and annotated lower left. The artwork is framed in a classic gold-tone frame and has a framed size of 26.5 x 38.5". The artwork ships framed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This work is published by Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts, an affiliate of Martin Lawrence Galleries, no prior ownership.

Kerry Hallam is as refreshing and spirited as his paintings. He creates enticing images through bold palettes and captivating compositions. Born in Northern England, Hallam showed early artistic talent when he won a six-year scholarship to London University's Central College of Art. After a formal art education under British master painters Leslie Cole, Patrick Heron and Hans Tisdale, he completed his military service in the prestigious Gurkha brigade in Hong Kong and Malaya. Hallam's talent was further acknowledged when he was selected for inclusion in Britain's Royal Society of Artists in Watercolour.
Through innumerable one-man shows, Kerry Hallam has been honored by galleries around the world having shown at exhibitions in Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, San Francisco and many other cities. His work has been featured in countless newspaper and magazine articles as well as in PBS television specials.
