Villa di Mare, 2001
$2,175.00
There is a sunny, celebratory feel to this view of the Seine — the light reads like an early summer afternoon, bright and clear, and it animates the city with warm, jewel-like color. Hallam’s hand-signed serigraph reduces Paris to a lively arrangement of color planes: the cathedral’s towers rise in pale, sunlit tones against a turquoise sky, the river reflects sky and shadow in broad swaths of blue, and leafy foreground shrubs provide a deep, textured anchor. Small, energetic marks suggest boats and figures without insisting on detail, so the scene feels both specific and pleasantly lived-in. The gold-tone frame gives the print a classic, slightly formal presence, but the picture itself stays breezy and approachable — a view that brings light, color, and a sense of travel-won ease to a room.
