Tremor, 1992
$395.00
A single kitchen whisk floats like an unexpected bird against a pale, breezy sky—playful, lighthearted, and quietly witty. The tiny composition delights in its gentle surprise: soft bands of turquoise and mint suggest drifting air while the whisk’s slender wires scatter a puff of cloud where a bird’s wing might be. The pale, restrained palette and precise, almost miniature rendering give the scene an intimate, storybook quality—familiar objects in an unfamiliar role, exactly as the artist intends. Because the image is so small and carefully contained, it feels like a private joke or a pocket-sized daydream—easy to hold close and smile at. Bring it into a small nook or tabletop display and you’ll have a compact, whimsical interlude that lightens the mood whenever it’s noticed.
The Artwork
"Nuage a la Neige" is a lithograph created by Fanny Brennan in 1996. From the edition of 300, the artwork is initialed 'FMB' lower right and annotated lower left. The image size is 1.5 x 2" and the artwork is framed in a contemporary silver and dark gray frame. The artwork ships framed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Each of Brennan's prints is a compact world of real and imaginary elements, playful and ambiguous, though completely enjoyable. "My intention is to depart entirely from the the customary view of miniature painting," notes the artist. "I do not paint mementos. Rather, by placing familiar objects in unfamiliar settings, I try to produce an image that will be remembered for its own sake." This work is published by Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts, an affiliate of Martin Lawrence Galleries, no prior ownership.
