Tight Rope, 1992-1995
$595.00
A small, whimsical world unfolds in Fanny Brennan’s Tremor — bright wooden spools of thread stack and teeter like playful totems against a calm, open sky. The delicate, jewel-like colors of the spools — red, pink, orange and violet — read almost like childhood toys set into a quietly landscaped lawn with a reflective pond. There’s a gentle tension in the composition: the precarious vertical tower suggests a moment of movement or imbalance, while the soft, airy clouds and neatly trimmed hedges keep the scene serene and composed. The image feels both intimate and slightly surreal — everyday objects made strange by scale and placement — and it carries a lighthearted curiosity that lingers. It’s the kind of small, memorable image that brings a touch of charm and gentle surprise to a room without shouting for attention.
