Tremor, 1992
$395.00
There’s a small, uncanny moment here — a warm, orange spiral hovering above a low, rocky range as if a seashell had drifted from the shore into the sky. The image reads like a miniature stage: a quiet, pale horizon and softly lit plains set a calm, twilight mood while the glossy, curled form floats with almost playful defiance of gravity. The contrast between the smooth, tactile roundness of the orange object and the craggier, earthbound texture of the mountain gives the scene a gentle sense of surprise and whimsy rather than drama. Colors are muted but precise — sand, sage, and the shell’s citrus glow — which keeps the work intimate and quietly memorable. It’s the kind of small, peculiar picture you find yourself looking at twice: part still life, part dream, equal measures familiarity and oddness that stay with you.
The Artwork

The artwork is framed in a contemporary silver and dark gray frame and has a framed size of 16.25 x 16". The artwork ships framed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Each of Brennan's prints is a compact world of real and imaginary elements, playful and ambiguous, though completely enjoyable. "My intention is to depart entirely from the the customary view of miniature painting," notes the artist. "I do not paint mementos. Rather, by placing familiar objects in unfamiliar settings, I try to produce an image that will be remembered for its own sake."
