Mixed Media Sculpture
NOTES: Protective Dragon - Golden Luster and Red. Dragon sculpture in red porcelain combined with golden luster and enamels and a limited edition base attached to the piece. The representation of supreme power from amongst all the creatures of eastern mythology, the protector dragon displays its magnificence in this High Porcelain creation. A symbol of strength, protection and good luck, this creature, present in all ancient Eastern cultures, drives away evil spirits, protects the innocent and provides security to those who possess it. This limited edition stands out for its striking decoration, dominated by a deep red colour combined with golden lustres and enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the skin of the dragon skin are painstakingly painted, one by one. The complex sculpture has an undulating shape in the form of the number eight, the quintessential lucky number in oriental culture..

Protective Dragon - Golden Luster and Red
Mixed Media Sculpture by Lladro
Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception.
The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
