Giclée - A computerized reproduction technique in which the image and topography are generated from a digital file and printed by a special ink jet printer, using ink, acrylic or oil paints. Giclée printing offers one of the highest degree of accuracy and richness of color available in any reproduction techniques
Lithography - Printing technique using a planographic process in which prints are pulled on a special press from a flat stone or metal surface that has been chemically sensitized so that ink sticks only to the design areas and is repelled by the non-image areas. Lithography was invented in 1798 in Germany by Alois Senefelder.
Serigraphy (Silk-screen) - A printing technique that makes use of a squeegee to force ink directly onto a piece of paper or canvas through a stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or other fine fabric with an impermeable substance. Serigraphy differs from most other printing in that its color areas are paint films rather than printing ink stains.

Artist's Proof (AP) - Print intended for the artist's personal use. It is common practice to reserve approximately ten percent of an edition as artist's proofs, although this figure can be higher. The artist's proof is sometimes referred to by its French épreuve d'artist (abbreviation E.A.). Artist's proofs can be distinguished by the abbreviation AP or E.A., commonly on the lower left of the work.
“Gallery wrapped” is a way of finishing a canvas artwork so it’s ready to hang without needing an additional frame. The canvas is stretched tightly over thick wooden stretcher bars, and the edges of the canvas are wrapped around the sides and stapled on the back.
Stretched - When a canvas is described as stretched, it means the artwork has been pulled tightly over a wooden frame (called stretcher bars) and secured on the back. This process keeps the canvas flat and smooth, ready to hang on the wall or to be placed inside an outer frame.
Hand Embellished - When an artwork is hand embellished, the artist (or a skilled studio artisan) personally adds paint, texture, or other details by hand on top of the printed or finished piece. This gives each artwork unique highlights and depth, making no two pieces exactly alike — even within the same edition.

NOTES: The Rally Car 1/2 Scale The extremely winding dirt road was riddled with potholes and patched with loose gravel. Fully attuned with his champion role, the famous rally driver Juan Carlos Mothe was pressing his foot down on the accelerator. The speedometer was at full throttle and the needle of the rev-counter way into the red zone. The car looked as if it were about to fly off the road at any given bend. With the finish line only five kilometres away, nobody was going to be able to snatch away the lead position. His co-pilot Andrés Sisin, who kept giving him precious directions, was white as a sheet. Seized by panic, he was stuttering: "Ve... ve... very danger... danger... dangerous ... sh... sh... sharp... r...r...right...t... t... turn... no, noooo! ... I mean, go lefff..." Six hours later, when he woke up on the hospital ward, he saw the great champion himself in the bed next to his. With plaster casts on both legs and a bandage wrapped around his head that even covered his eyes, the champ was muttering in a very low tone. The co-pilot pricked up his ears to listen and managed to make out words that sounded a bit like: "I'm gonna kill him... I'm gonna kill him...when I see him... I'll kill him!"..

From the early 1980's, Guillermo Forchino experiments with various materials to create his works of art. This research began in the city of his birth Rosario Argentina at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and then continued during three years of studies in art restoration and conservation at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. During his studies he discovered and mastered many classic techniques and materials. After completing his studies in Paris, Guillermo returned to Argentina where he directed the Juan B. Castagnino atelier of art restoration for the Museum of Beaux-Arts in Rosario. It was during this period that Forchino began creating figures made from wrapped bands of cloth where the visible parts of the body (head and hands) were made from wax and paper mache colored with natural pigments. From the end of the 1980's, Forchino chose polyresins to create figurines and scenes that often resemble the world of comic strip and cartoon characters. These are typically unusual and humorous subjects such as a family leaving on vacation in an overloaded car with flat tires, or a tired old American pick-up truck from the 1950's with equally tired passengers. Mr. Forchino has also chosen to create other modes of transportation such as boats, planes and motorcycles and has even used a floating bathtub in his works. His creations are always full of humor and finesse and are created with a unique character. In recent years, Guillermo has also created a line of individuals in sports and a variety of professions that was named the "Professionals Series". Also these creations have found a large collector audience worldwide. The average height of these figurines is 45 cm. Recently a smaller version of the Professionals was introduced the "Special editions Series", approx. 50% smaller . Guillermo has regular expositions in France, in Argentina and in the Netherlands. Mr. Forchino lives and works in Paris, his workshop is only a few steps away from the world famous Pere Lachaise cemetery. In 2003 a collaboration between Guillermo and VMM resulted in the worldwide introduction of replicas of Guillermo's work. These reproductions are fully handmade and hand painted, just like the originals, under the supervision of Guillermo himself, by highly skilled artisans in the Far East. Some of these artworks are reproduced in the same size as the original that Mr. Forchino created, some are reduced in size to 50 or 75% of the original. Through these initiatives, the Comic Art of Guillermo Forchino is available for a large group of art lovers in the form of limited editions, in numbered series. Found only in specially selected stores, each piece is identified by a stamped signature and a unique number on the bottom of the item. A numbered certificate of authenticity completes each package.
