Assyrian Archer. Sculptor Marco Antonio NoguerΓΒ³n. Base Included. Limited Edition 250 pcs. - 01009169
NOTES: Assyrian Archer. Limited edition sculpture of an Assyrian Archer with bow and arrow in matte porcelain with golden enamel. The imposing presence of one of the most powerful armies in the ancient world inspired this High Porcelain limited edition depicting an Assyrian archer of almost a metre in height, which takes us back to a past of splendour. Ashurbanipal, the last great king of Assyria, ordered a library to be built in Nineveh, and in their breaks they released the lions in the park and engaged them in combat. This mixture of cultural richness and imperial strength is represented in this warrior. The white linen robe reaching the ground, bracelets and bangles, helmet, shoes and leather quiver, and bow with golden handle .... everything speaks to the power and wealth of the figure. The result is a work which will forever evoke the splendor of one of the most fascinating civilizations in history.. The Collection Shop is an Authorized Lladro Dealer. Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
