Andrew bio

Andrew graduated with honors from the Imperial Academy of Arts in St.Petersburg. After completing his studies in 1994, he took part in a number of exhibitions. In 1999 he was invited by a New England art group Bay Arts to take part in their exhibition and he spent a whole year in the United States. It was at Artexpo in New York in 2000 that he came across the work of Pino Daeni and the spanish painter Royo and realised the direction in which he wanted to take his art. His lush oils show the influence of these two artists and have a 1950's feel. In different periods of his creative work, the leading themes of painting were dance: ballet dancers, flamenco and tango dancers, - jazz musicians, inspired female images. Andrew is also a brilliant draughtsman, who creates exquisite drawings. Artistic experiments in technique and the search for new themes for inspiration form the essence of the his creative search and professional path. His artworks are selling successfully in the United States and the UK and has been represented at Sotheby's auctions. In 2006 Andrew received the highest award of the International Portrait Arts Festival in Toronto and the Medal of Honor in Oil from the American Artists Professional League. Andrew has worked for many years with the Weinstein Art Management Company, various art galleries across the the United States and art galleries in Rochester, England.
