You can almost feel the rush of air as Spider-Man cuts through a rain-slicked avenue to snatch a small dog from harm. Image Notes I have always been drawn to the way Marvel’s Spider-Man moves. As a child, I was captivated by the idea of defying gravity—of climbing walls and swinging effortlessly between towering buildings high above the streets below. That sense of freedom and motion stayed with me, and years later, as I began studying imaginative figure drawing in my twenties, Spider-Man once again became a source of inspiration. His flexibility, energy, and fluidity challenged me to push my own understanding of movement in art. Even today, I continue that practice, often returning to lunchtime sketches to explore new ideas. The Rescue began as one of those drawings—one that immediately felt alive with motion and intent. From there, the question naturally followed: what is Spider-Man doing in this moment? With a hero defined by selflessness, the answer came easily. Set within the vibrant energy of a constantly, moving, city Spider-Man - The Rescue captures a fleeting but meaningful act—Spider-Man swinging through the chaos to save an unsuspecting dog below. For me, this piece is a celebration of motion, instinct, and heroism in its purest form. It reflects not only the excitement I felt as a child watching heroes in action, but also the enduring challenge and joy of bringing that sense of life and movement to the canvas.
