Painting The Hand of God in this way, it is very easy for each of us to see ourselves as Peter: seeing ourselves ""drowning"" metaphorically and needing the Jesus Christ to save us. Jesus walking on water to save Peter is one of the most searched online Bible stories of all time and one that people the world over connect with on a deep level. Most paintings that portray this story do so from a third party perspective. Instead, Yongsung Kim chose to portray this story from the first person perspective of Peter.
