The Gallery's Perspective
Stromboli's booming presence is the first thing you notice—his broad stance, jutting chin and sweeping black beard give him an almost theatrical swagger. Here he stands apart from the scene, a commanding figurine beside a richly detailed merchant's table that reads like a small still life of indulgence: stacked coins, a bottle wrapped in rope, fruits, bread and tiny pewter utensils. The contrast between his exaggerated posture and the careful, diminutive accoutrements heightens the character's mercantile bravado—he feels both larger-than-life and precisely observed. Colors are warm and slightly playful; the rosy midriff and olive jacket emphasize his personality rather than realism, while the woodgrain bases and barrel anchor the presentation in a tactile, hand-crafted world. As a display, the two-piece grouping works like a brief story: Stromboli’s pose suggests command and appetite, the table answers with tempting goods and the tools of his trade. Stromboli: "you Will Make lots of Money for Me!" (2002)
Stromboli became the second in the Villains Series where the Villain was not part of the setting, but a stand alone figurine, with an accessory item included. This boxed set included the table, made of resin and plussed with pewter, butter knife, spoon and ax handle and metal pepper stem.

WALT DISNEY CLASSICS FIGURINES - The Classics Collection started in 1992 with three scenes, Bambi, Cinderella, and Fantasia's Sorcerer Apprentice. Many other series have since been introduced. Some figurines are limited, and some have been retired. Some of these figurines have risen high on the secondary market.
The figurines are made of porcelain, and the process is similar to that use to make Hummel figurines. Individual pieces are molded, put together, and fired in an oven. Then they are painted and fired again.
Each figurine is marked on the bottom, signifying the year it was produced. The marks represent significant milestones in Disney history. The figurines with the first year mark are usually the most desirable.
