Enough Gallery Wrap
$339.00
There’s an immediate tenderness in the way two faces incline toward one another here — a close, protective gesture that feels quietly miraculous. Up close the picture resolves into a mosaic of tiny found objects and pebbles: shells, beads, seeds and fragments laid like a long, patient stitch-work to form skin tones, hair, and the soft planes of cheek and brow. That tactile surface gives the figures weight and history; what reads as a single gentle expression from a distance becomes a collection of intimate, labor-worn pieces when you come nearer. Muted earth tones and warm highlights keep the scene grounded and consoling, while the dense, textural layering suggests care and devotion in both subject and making. For someone drawn to devotional imagery that feels personal rather than doctrinal, this work offers a humble, human moment of seeing and lifting that stays with you.
The Artwork
The queen of the Lamanites is overcome by the Spirit and falls to the ground. Abish, a Book of Mormon character who nurtured a secret faith, sees an opportunity to lift the queen and to testify to the many around her. After gathering a crowd of neighbors, Abish reached out to the queen, lifting her to consciousness and witnessing a higher way to the gathered crowd. The viewer becomes the queen, newly awakened to Abish as she reaches out to lift. “Our Father has a vision for each of us individually, and if we are faithful and all of our little choices for good add up, there will be a day where we can be who we need to be to help raise the people around us.” —Shelby Stroud.
