About Jungle Panther Black Sculpture

The Origami collection expands with a new addition: a white porcelain panther with a glazed finish, decorated with black floral motifs. A piece that combines feline magnetism with the softness of decorative art. The signature faceted language of Origami, inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, defines its silhouette with pure, angular lines. Black botanical illustrations are drawn across the panther’s body, as if nature were reclaiming its place on the animal’s skin.Reproducing a creation like this in porcelain, with its many angles and straight lines, poses an added challenge during the firing process. The natural shrinkage that occurs as the piece passes through the kiln affects this type of composition, as even the slightest variation can distort the sharpness of a line or the clarity of an angle. Unlike organic shapes, geometric structures require an extra level of control to ensure balance and precision. These are creations that, beneath their apparent formal simplicity, push the boundaries of handcrafted porcelain.

Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
