About Winnie the Pooh Figurine

Winnie the Pooh is a porcelain figurine of the Disney character. The character Winnie the Pooh was the central figure of childrens books by A. A. Milne, and later, Walt Disney films. A tubby teddy bear, he lives in the 100 Acre Wood, in a house inside a tree. A little boy called Christopher Robin Milne met Winnie on a visit to the Zoo when he was 5 years old, and became such good friends with her that the keepers would let him into the enclosure to play with her. That first visit inspired his father, A. A. Milne, whose books about the ""silly old bear"" became classics of 20th century English literature. Early fans of Milnes books included the daughters of Walt Disney. In 1966 Disney made the first film about Pooh: €œWinnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree€, which was soon followed by others. In gloss finish porcelain, in the characters classic colours, this figure forms part of a collection of related, collectible Disney pieces, which can be acquired separately or as a set: 01009320, 01009079, 01009328

Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
