About Superman

Superman, the Man of Steel, now in porcelain

We€™ve reimagined the ultimate superhero with a porcelain creation that captures the essence of the character: strength, integrity, and a quiet determination to make the world a better place. Inspired by the classic Superman from the original 1939 comics by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, we present him in his most iconic pose, wearing his unmistakable suit. To recreate Superman€™s outfit, we developed a special shade of blue and metallic reds exclusively for this edition. The combination is elevated by matte and satin gold luster detailing on the emblem and belt. Superman stands on a mineral-textured base representing Krypton, his home planet, the source of his strength and, paradoxically, the origin of his greatest weakness: kryptonite. Every detail has been carefully crafted, from the character€™s anatomy and expression to the textures of the ground beneath his feet. Known on Earth as Clark Kent, he balances his job as a reporter at the Daily Planet with a silent mission to protect the world with compassion and superhuman abilities. Sculpted by Eva Cuerva and entirely handcrafted in our workshops in Valencia, this limited edition is part of our collection dedicated to contemporary cultural icons.

Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
