About Lord Ram Lalla by Dr. Arun Yogiraj Sculpture

LORD RAM LALLA, THE BELOVED CHILD

LORD RAM LALLA, THE BELOVED CHILD Even the gods were once children. Before the hero and the king, there was innocence. Lord Ram Lalla captures that moment€”God at the age of five, a symbol of purity and serenity. €œLalla,€ meaning €œbeloved child,€ presents Lord Rama as a radiant, gentle soul. An image that invites us to connect with spirituality in its purest form. The piece was created in collaboration with sculptor Dr. Arun Yogiraj, author of the consecrated image in the Ayodhya temple. Following the principles of Shilpa Shastra, our sculptor Raúl Rubio faithfully reinterpreted his work in porcelain, together with our ornamentation and decoration teams. The inspiration comes from the temple, where every Ram Navami a ray of sunlight touches the deity€™s forehead: the Surya Tilak, a symbol of blessing and cosmic harmony. Lord Ram Lalla wears a warm, velvet-like robe and enamelled jewelry in ruby, emerald, and pearl tones. His handmade garland features over 500 porcelain flowers. The hand-carved arch behind him, in anthracite gray, displays the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. At his feet are Lord Hanuman and Garuda, and above his head, sacred symbols of Hinduism. Each piece requires nearly 20 days of artisanal work. An exceptional creation that conveys a timeless message of spirituality and devotion.

Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
