Wrigley Field, 2016

You can almost hear the hush of a Paris morning in this lively street scene — the play of warm ochres and deep greens gives the storefront a friendly, lived-in charm. The serigraph’s detailed shop windows are the real delight: painted toy shelves, a rocking horse, and tiny figures arranged like a miniature stage invite a closer look and a pleasant smile. Kondakova’s careful line work and steady contrasts make the carved doorframes and decorative transoms feel tactile, while the softened highlights on the pavement and window glass suggest gentle sunlight washing the facade. Small painted signs and the figures above the cornice add a whimsical, nostalgic note, as if the artist is remembering a simpler neighborhood ritual. Hung where it can be enjoyed up close, this scene brings a sense of quiet joy and everyday wonder to a room — the kind of image that rewards stopping for a minute to imagine the stories inside the shop.
