Wrigley Field, 2016

A hush of evening wraps the Rialto in soft, peach-and-lavender light—an hour that feels private even in a busy city. Kondakova’s serigraph records that moment with crisp, careful detail: the bridge’s graceful arc sits centrally, its balustrades and arches rendered with warm stone tones that glow against a cooling sky. In the foreground, a row of striped mooring poles and quietly bobbing gondolas give the scene a gentle rhythm, their deep blues and reflected highlights anchoring the composition and lending depth. Look closely at the shops and windows along the bridge: small signs and lit interiors suggest life just beyond sight, a lovely reminder of the human activity Venice shelters without shouting. The work’s controlled palette—rosy skies, golden building facades and dark, reflective water—creates a calm, slightly nostalgic feeling, as if remembering a perfect twilight. It’s the kind of image that brings a familiar, reassuring presence to a room and lets you linger in that tranquil Venetian evening whenever you glance up.
