Wrigley Field, 2016

A calm, reflective hush is the first thing you notice — the château and its towers sit mirrored perfectly in a glassy river, and that double image gives the scene a gentle, almost storybook stillness. Liudmila Kondakova’s crisp serigraphing emphasizes clean edges and jewel-like color: the château’s warm stone contrasts with a cool green roof while autumnal trees add sparks of orange that punctuate the composition. Small, deliberate details — the lone rowboat with a single figure and the soft cloud reflections — introduce a human scale without breaking the peaceful mood. The overall effect feels both precise and lyrical, as if a well-kept memory of a riverside afternoon has been translated into calm, graphic poetry. It’s the kind of work that soothes a space with tidy structure and a quietly hopeful atmosphere.
