There is a comforting order to this view of Île de la Cité: the cathedral’s familiar silhouette rises calmly against a pastel sky while the river below mirrors the day’s last light. The serigraph’s crisp edges and jewel-like color give each rooftop, tree and buttress a carefully observed presence—nothing feels accidental. Warm pinks and soft blues read as evening glow, while small lit windows and streetlamps add a human scale that makes the city feel lived-in rather than theatrical. Notice the steady rhythm of the trees and lamps along the quayside and the small boat cutting across the water; those touches bring a gentle movement to an otherwise composed, serene scene. It’s the kind of picture that soothes: precise, orderly, and quietly affectionate toward the city it depicts.
