Wrigley Field, 2016

A soft, early-morning hush settles over this Paris street — the Eiffel Tower rising in pale distance like a familiar promise. The scene feels lived-in and gentle: shuttered windows and tiny flower boxes, striped awnings, and café chairs awaiting the day. Warm interior lights and the glow behind blue shopfronts suggest people stirring inside; a lone figure pauses beneath a tree whose autumn leaves scatter small, bright accents across the cobbles. Liudmila Kondakova’s careful line and color build a comforting sense of neighborhood — the hum of everyday life rather than grand monumentality. The layered façades, hand-signed serigraph detail, and restrained palette of rose, ochre, and soft blue make the work feel both intimate and cinematic. It’s the kind of picture that brings a quiet, cheerful presence to a room, like a travel memory you return to for calm and small pleasures.
