Wrigley Field, 2016
$4,850.00
There’s an immediate coziness to the sidewalk café and doorway here — the kind of warm welcome you notice before you even read the signs. Kondakova tucks a row of green bistro chairs and small round tables under soft strings of lights, while rich red curtains and a glowing lantern draw the eye into the restaurant’s interior. The stone façade, scuffed pavement, and tiny menu posters give the scene an approachable, lived-in charm; you can almost hear quiet conversation and the clink of glasses. Color does much of the work: deep reds and honeyed yellows create warmth, while the patterned chairs and tiled entry add a playful, tactile rhythm. Small details — a glimpse of a server at the bar, wine bottles on display, and the framed view in the window — make the moment feel like a remembered evening in a favorite neighborhood spot. It’s the sort of image that brings an inviting pulse to a room, a snapshot of convivial life rather than an empty street scene.
