About The Father - Star Wars: A New Hope™ Wall Art by Jenna McMullins

Image Notes "The boy you trained, gone he is. Consumed by Darth Vader." The tragedy of Anakin Skywalker begins and ends with power. With his immolation, the Republic's Jedi hero was no more. All that he ever stood for has been destroyed by a haunting presence. Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, is a truly imposing presence. The mere sight of him with lightsaber ignited would be the last for many opponents. In his hopeless crusade to stop death, Vader has become its herald. His helmet is devoid of all feeling, trapping the suffering Skywalker within. And it is that very anguish that Vader channels through combat. This piece uses black and white hues to blur the lines between good and evil, making Vader's weapon ambiguously pale. While the dark panels emerge behind him, a series of light patterns flank from the sides. Commonly seen in Imperial corridors, these shapes take on new meaning through this image. Vader is in a cage of his own making...trapped in a void between doom and redemption. © & TM Lucasfilm Ltd.
