Giclée - A computerized reproduction technique in which the image and topography are generated from a digital file and printed by a special ink jet printer, using ink, acrylic or oil paints. Giclée printing offers one of the highest degree of accuracy and richness of color available in any reproduction techniques

Lithography - Printing technique using a planographic process in which prints are pulled on a special press from a flat stone or metal surface that has been chemically sensitized so that ink sticks only to the design areas and is repelled by the non-image areas. Lithography was invented in 1798 in Germany by Alois Senefelder.

Serigraphy (Silk-screen) - A printing technique that makes use of a squeegee to force ink directly onto a piece of paper or canvas through a stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or other fine fabric with an impermeable substance. Serigraphy differs from most other printing in that its color areas are paint films rather than printing ink stains.

Artist's Proof (AP) - Print intended for the artist's personal use. It is common practice to reserve approximately ten percent of an edition as artist's proofs, although this figure can be higher. “Gallery wrapped” is a way of finishing a canvas artwork so it’s ready to hang without needing an additional frame. The canvas is stretched tightly over thick wooden stretcher bars, and the edges of the canvas are wrapped around the sides and stapled on the back.

Stretched - When a canvas is described as stretched, it means the artwork has been pulled tightly over a wooden frame (called stretcher bars) and secured on the back. This process keeps the canvas flat and smooth, ready to hang on the wall or to be placed inside an outer frame.

Hand Embellished - When an artwork is hand embellished, the artist (or a skilled studio artisan) personally adds paint, texture, or other details by hand on top of the printed or finished piece. This gives each artwork unique highlights and depth, making no two pieces exactly alike — even within the same edition.

Glen Orbik (1963â€“2015) was a distinguished American illustrator celebrated for his masterful noir illustrations and pulp fiction art. His dynamic compositions and commitment to figurative realism brought to life numerous comic book covers and paperback novels, notably for the Hard Case Crime series. A protÃ©gÃ© of renowned illustrator Fred Fixler, Orbik not only excelled in his craft but also contributed to art education, teaching figure drawing and inspiring a new generation of artists. His legacy endures in the realm of contemporary pulp art, where his work remains a benchmark for quality and storytelling.

“Avenger of the Night” was rendered and painted exclusively for Clampett Studio Collections by famed DC Comics artist, Glen Orbik. It is a companion piece to the Orbik-created “Truth, Justice and the American Way.” Each piece is hand-numbered and has been signed by Glen Orbik - CP1285D

Glen Orbik bio

Glen Orbik (1963 â€“ May 11, 2015) was an American illustrator known for his fully painted paperback and comic covers, often executed in a noir style. In the 1970s, Orbik and his mother moved to Douglas County, Nevada. He is a 1981 graduate of Douglas High School in Minden, Nevada. He studied art at the California Art Institute then located in Encino, later Calabasas, California, and now located in Westlake Village. He studied under the school's founder, retired movie and advertisement illustrator Fred Fixler. Orbik eventually took over the classes when Fixler retired from teaching and taught figure drawing after returning from an extended hiatus.[citation needed] His work has been compared to Alex Ross and Robert McGinnis,[citation needed] and he was a popular teacher among fine art, comic, and video game artists.[citation needed] He most recently worked on a series of paperback covers for the Hard Case Crime series of novels. Orbik resided in Van Nuys, California.[1] He died on May 11, 2015 of cancer.
