Giclée - A computerized reproduction technique in which the image and topography are generated from a digital file and printed by a special ink jet printer, using ink, acrylic or oil paints. Giclée printing offers one of the highest degree of accuracy and richness of color available in any reproduction techniques
Lithography - Printing technique using a planographic process in which prints are pulled on a special press from a flat stone or metal surface that has been chemically sensitized so that ink sticks only to the design areas and is repelled by the non-image areas. Lithography was invented in 1798 in Germany by Alois Senefelder.
Serigraphy (Silk-screen) - A printing technique that makes use of a squeegee to force ink directly onto a piece of paper or canvas through a stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or other fine fabric with an impermeable substance. Serigraphy differs from most other printing in that its color areas are paint films rather than printing ink stains.

Artist's Proof (AP) - Print intended for the artist's personal use. It is common practice to reserve approximately ten percent of an edition as artist's proofs, although this figure can be higher. The artist's proof is sometimes referred to by its French épreuve d'artist (abbreviation E.A.). Artist's proofs can be distinguished by the abbreviation AP or E.A., commonly on the lower left of the work.
“Gallery wrapped” is a way of finishing a canvas artwork so it’s ready to hang without needing an additional frame. The canvas is stretched tightly over thick wooden stretcher bars, and the edges of the canvas are wrapped around the sides and stapled on the back.
Stretched - When a canvas is described as stretched, it means the artwork has been pulled tightly over a wooden frame (called stretcher bars) and secured on the back. This process keeps the canvas flat and smooth, ready to hang on the wall or to be placed inside an outer frame.
Hand Embellished - When an artwork is hand embellished, the artist (or a skilled studio artisan) personally adds paint, texture, or other details by hand on top of the printed or finished piece. This gives each artwork unique highlights and depth, making no two pieces exactly alike — even within the same edition.

NOTES: Lookout Tower-Wolves - Why are most people so fascinated with wolves? If one looks at these four wolves on a cliff, the harmony of their colors and wonderful proportions of their bodies, as well as the resemblance to our dear German Shepherd and Huskies, explains everything. The teamwork in their hunting strategy has fascinated many biologists and naturalists. It is the same for most dog species like the Wild Dogs in Africa and the Dingoes in Australia, to name a few. Just like lions hunting in groups, the wolves can lay down big prey like moose, elk and caribou. Even a bear isn’t safe facing a big pack of wolves. One might wonder why wolves are so shy of humans. The story of Little Red Riding Hood is still in people’s minds. This fairy tale gave the wolf a bad reputation. Wolves avoid humans, as humans are their worst enemy. The inspiration for this painting came when I flew back to Europe after a wonderful field work trip (hunting with my camera). As I am unable to sleep in planes, I often make sketches for future paintings. With a ball-point pen and a little sheet of paper, one sketch was enough to create this painting. The scenery in this painting is typical of Western America with Lodgepole Pine and Rocky Mountain Maple. I mostly paint not what I have seen, but what I dream of seeing in the wild. This painting is done as a celebration for the success of the reintroduction of the wolves in Yellowstone National Park. As a wolf-lover, I am thankful to the people who worked hard to reintroduce the wolf into Yellowstone National Park. A wild area like this isn’t complete without this wonderful predator..

love for all creatures, from the friendly to the ferocious, is evident in his masterful attention to their every detail; nothing is overlooked. With his imagination, Brenders is able to get close enough to wild animals so that he can almost feel their textures. Consequently, his work has a tactile reality, giving us the sense of having been where even the most intrepid of field guides have not ventured. Of this ability Brenders says, "A painter is a privileged being, because in his imagination he can come very close to the animals he paints. In reality, one can never come this close to wild animals, particularly if they are predators. Brenders' insistence on anatomical perfection in his paintings stems from his philosophy that nature, itself, is perfection: "That is why I paint the way I do with so much detail and so much realism " I want to capture that perfection," he says.
