Chris Owen bio

Chris Owen's working cowboy themes are a representation of authentic operating ranch activities. He paints predominantly with gouache. He majored in art at Montana State University. he was the recipient of a scholarship to the acclaimed Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where he studied for two years. Chris Owen has recently gained widespread recognition for his dramatic Western paintings. Chris exhibits annually at the Coors Western Art Exhibit in Denver; at the C.M. Russell Western Art Auction in Great Falls; and at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show, where he was selected as the limited edition print artist.
