Drip Along Daffy - MKLE006

NOTES: Drip Along Daffy "Drip Along Daffy" a fine art reproduction on canvas in an edition of 36, signed by the artist Mike Kungl, is now available at your Chuck Jones Gallery. "There were quite a few western television shows that I had to watch regularly, even in black and white. "The Cisco Kid", "The Lone Ranger", "Bonanza" and my favorite, "The Wild Wild West". I loved the animated intro with all of the scenes playing out in the little boxes. I didn't see too many western movies at the time, but the television shows were a huge part of my childhood as were the cartoons of Chuck Jones. "For "Drip Along Daffy" I definitely jumped back into time to the era which I truly adore, 1920 to 1945 Art Deco. The western movie posters from that era are like none other. No glitz! Just primary colors and 10 gallon hats. A big, colorful hero in the background with a monochromatic action scene in the foreground was the formula; that's what I drew upon while designing the artwork for "Drip Along Daffy". I wanted it to be just like a vintage western movie poster that made western hero icons out of Buck Jones, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and Gary Cooper. "With all that said it turned out just how I envisioned, a hero (or at least he thinks he is) with a 10 gallon hat, a primary color palette and a monochromatic sepia two gun wheelin, rootin, tootin, deth-spicable, angry duck in the foreground." --Mike Kungl.

Mike Kungl bio

After completing art and design school M Kungl applied his graphic design education to achieve a successful career in advertising. Spending nearly two decades creating award winning logos, package design and illustration for companies such as Panasonic, Johnson & Johnson, Toshiba and Nissan Motors, Kungl then focused on fine art full time. Soon into his new career, Kungl never suspected that success on one coast would lead to recognition on another. Within just two years the California artist was selected to create the official artwork for Miami Beach's 25th annual Art Deco Weekend. The Miami honor is just one of many in a succession of developments that highlight Kungl?s growing reputation as a recognized collectible artist across the country and around the world. In addition to strong domestic sales of his images, Kungl?s works are rising in popularity throughout Europe, Japan and Australia. His work is featured regularly in magazine articles, how to books and television shows.
