Flamenco dancers Couple - 01009333
NOTES: Flamenco dancers Couple. Flamenco Dancers represents the famous dance of southern Spain, flamenco, in the variant called bata de cola. Flamenco has won fame beyond Spain, and became part of the worlds Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010. The flamenco dress with a train, or bata de cola, is rarely found these days, due to the technical demands of the dance, the high cost of the dress itself, and its incompatibility with some modern flamenco styles. It first appeared in the later 18th century in Granada as a white percale dress of a special length. In the early 20th century the bata de cola dance became fashionable in flamenco shows thanks to Pastora Imperio and Antonia MercΓΒ©. The trains now in use are lighter in weight, but the dancers who wear them are regarded as true professionals. In this piece the movement of the long train of the womans spectacular dress is just as vital as the expressive gestures of the dancers arms and hands. In gloss finish porcelain, the womans hair is adorned with a red rose to match her earrings, and the flounces of the bata de cola. Sculptor: JosΓΒ© Luis Santes, Release year 2018,. Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style.
