NOTES: Winnie the Pooh is a porcelain figurine of the Disney character. The character Winnie the Pooh was the central figure of childrens books by A. A. Milne, and later, Walt Disney films. A tubby teddy bear, he lives in the 100 Acre Wood, in a house inside a tree. A little boy called Christopher Robin Milne met Winnie on a visit to the Zoo when he was 5 years old, and became such good friends with her that the keepers would let him into the enclosure to play with her. That first visit inspired his father, A. A. Milne, whose books about the ""silly old bear"" became classics of 20th century English literature. Early fans of Milnes books included the daughters of Walt Disney. In 1966 Disney made the first film about Pooh: “Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree”, which was soon followed by others.
