A variety of animator models, or "maquettes", were made for Fantasia including an elephant, the gods of Olympus, unicorns, and cherubs, among others. These figurines proved to be so popular that Walt Disney occasionally used them as gifts to YIPs and they were sometimes used as decor in studio offices. The Hyacinth Hippo and Ben Ali Gator maquettes reproduced for this edition were displayed on the north windowsill of Walt Disney's formal office on the Burbank Studios lot in the late 1960s.

Hyacinth Hippo & Ben Ali Gator Marquette From Fantasia by Walt Disney Archives is a Limited Edition production by the Artist. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which affirms that this is an authentic Limited Edition production from  Walt Disney Archives.

From Mickey Mouse to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, characters and stories introduced decades ago continue to be celebrated in brand-new films, television programs, merchandise items and theme park experiences. Recognizing the unique and enduring creative legacy started by Walt Disney, the Walt Disney Archives was established in 1970 to collect, preserve and make available for research the historical materials relating to Walt and the company he founded. The Disney Creative Director & Master Artist is David Pacheco and Becky Bresee & Wayne Unten are the Frozen Animation Supervisors for Anna and Elsa.

What is an Animation Maquette? Three-dimensional character models, used by animators as a way to study crucial angles, reveal the play of light and shadow, and clarify issues of perspective. Pinocchio was the first Disney full-length film to use maquettes.
