Particulars:
Second release in a series of sculptures based on the popular Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
The Captain of the Wicked Wench was released on March 18, 2007 at the Disneyland® Resort during the Theme Park's 40th Anniversary Celebration and Walt Disney World® Resort.
The series will include sculptures based on several vignettes from the original attraction (not from the 2006 redress featuring representations from the live action films). The series of sculptures will release exclusively at the Disney Theme Parks.
This sculpture pays homage to the original Captain of the Wicked Wench, who you will not see any more as part of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, since it has been redressed to Captain Barbossa on the Black Pearl from the popular live action film series.

Artist Bio: WALT DISNEY CLASSICS FIGURINES - The Classics Collection started in 1992 with three scenes, Bambi, Cinderella, and Fantasia's Sorcerer Apprentice. Many other series have since been introduced. Some figurines are limited, and some have been retired. Some of these figurines have risen high on the secondary market. The figurines are made of porcelain, and the process is similar to that use to make Hummel figurines. Individual pieces are molded, put together, and fired in an oven. Then they are painted and fired again. Each figurine is marked on the bottom, signifying the year it was produced. The marks represent significant milestones in Disney history. The figurines with the first year mark are usually the most desirable.
