"And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." Luke 22:43 – 44
With a realization of the indescribable agony that obedience required, our Savior nobly suffered for the transgressions of the world. I am eternally grateful for His love and willingness to suffer for me.
In this painting, I wanted to capture the sincerity of Christ's prayer and the heavenly comfort He received in Gethsemane. I know He listens to our prayers, and that in our times of need, He will be there to stand by and comfort us.
