In 2005, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Thomas Blackshear’s Ebony Visions collection. This resized version of the original 14¼” tall sculpture of The Guardian released in 1996, was created to pay tribute to this remarkable collection.radiating the power of God’s love and protection, The Guardian 10-Year Commemorative Issue typifies Blackshear’s ability to capture timeless human relationships with one another and with God. The Guardian has been the most popular Ebony Visions design created, selling 26,100 pieces in its original 14 ¼” tall edition. The 10-Year Commemorative Issue was re-sculpted to 10 1/8” tall, creating a wonderful gift-giving figurine. NOTES: Reflecting Thomas Blackshear's own belief in God and his faith that God's love provides for all human needs, The Guardian depicts two young children as they bravely face the unknown world that lies before them. Filled with optimism and confidence founded in their deep and abiding faith, they take their first steps toward a promising but unforeseeable future. Their spiritual guardian angel compassionately enfolds the vulnerable children in his strong wings, always present, forever surrounding them with love and protection as they travel on their lifelong journeys.
