As we confront difficult situations in our lives, we all should try to see things through the eyes of Christ, asking ourselves, how would He handle this?
In this painting, I felt the power in the eyes of Christ — it was a sense of calm and a sense of knowing. A feeling of peace called me into the painting. It was as though He were staring back, from His eyes to mine, and that feeling extended into my hands, drawing me into the painting with an even greater intensity.
Just as Christ reached out to the world in peace and love, I want to reach out and help to heal the world with my paintings. That is my ultimate goal. Through the power of God, I hope that my work will inspire and give a sense of calm that can create miracles.
I used a lot of symbolism in this painting. It is a parable within itself, representing God and life. I want the viewer to be able to decipher it as it relates to his or her own life. It's as simple and as complex as that, yet no more complex than the simple word of love.

| Artist Bio: Edwin's acute attention for detail and his insistence on perfecting his work has allowed this self taught artist to pursue a career in fine art.
Edwin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1969. Even at an early age Edwin displayed an artistic talent. In 1991, he moved to Edmonton, Alberta and applied at a local community college. His portfolio was not considered impressive at the time and his acceptance was refused. Despite the initial set-back, he was determined to pursue a career in the arts. The local library served as a source of reference to study the great artists of the renaissance, up to and including modern works. Edwin is inspired by many artists, his favorites being Albert Bierstadt, Frederick Edwin Church, and Leonardo DaVinci. Edwin began experimenting with different mediums, techniques and styles, finding his niche in wildlife and landscapes.
By 1992, began selling his originals to collectors and investors. In 1995, Edwin won the Alberta Duck Stamp competition for Ducks Unlimited. With the funds raised from the sale of collector stamps and prints, a marsh was developed to ensure the duck population. By 1999, Edwin and his brothers began a publishing company, Tuts Bros. Limited Editions.
Edwin has donated prints to numerous charities including the United Way, Epileptic Association, and other local charities. Edwin's future goal is creating a trust fund to sponsor struggling artists so they may develop their talent and to help advise and guide them in their pursuit of the fine arts.
Edwin draws his inspiration from nature, spending much of his time in the back-country. In every painting, he hopes to capture the outdoor experience in his artwork. Ultimately, Edwin hopes that his paintings inspire others to recognize the need for the preservation of nature and it's inhabitants through the appreciation of nature.
