Brian Jekel bio

Artist Brian Jekel was born in 1951. He was raised in the upper midwest where he remembers entertaining himself on cold winter days by drawing pictures of animals. In high school and college he found success in sports which led to teaching physical education and coaching in Australia. Upon his return to the United States, he became disenchanted with the public school situation and decided to give art a chance. As an art student in Denver he soon discovered that he had a talent for figurative work. In art school he met his future wife and also met Jesus Christ. In 1981, Brian was convinced that he needed to dedicate not only his life but also his work to the Lord. For over 20 years he has created over a thousand works relating to biblical themes and the life of Christ. The MasterPeace Collection began from the vision to "reclaim the arts for Christ." Through art, it has been our desire to give Jesus an honored place and also a rightful place. The Life of Christ series accomplishes both. Brian Jekel masterfully captures in a penetrating way, the simplicity, the beauty, and the ministry of Jesus. Each of the paintings in this series reveal the excellence of the work, the power of its imagery, and bring glory to the master, Jesus Christ.
